Singapore Lactation Bakes

Singapore Lactation Bakes

Hello!  Like most moms, we try to find ways and means to boost breastmilk supply.  With my first child, I had delayed milk supply that didn’t kick in till the third week.  Hence I was worried that it will be the same for my second child as well.

While sourcing around online, i came across Singapore Lactation Bakes when I googled for lactation cookies.  Upon checking out their website, I decided to give it a try.  I received my items the NEXT DAY because to quote from her website “we know how tough the initial weeks are, so we provide door-to-door delivery for breastfeeding mums who are looking to boost their supply.” (SLB)

Other than lactation cookies, Joanna (The Founder and Baker) also bakes muffins and the special flavour of the month.  For the month of October, she made this uber delicious dark chocolate fudge muffin as seen below.  She too has a pancake mix in the event that you plan to boost supply while eating pancakes!

Can you see how rich and chocolatey this cake is?

Look at the oats in my chocolate chips oat cookies!

After my second birth, my milk kicked in by the third day and supply wasn’t as bad as the first time round.  After trying out the cookies from Singapore Lactation Bakes (SLB), I started to yield a consistent steady amount which matches the amount that my daughter is drinking.  It is also a great snack for when I get hungry as they are healthy and help to boost my milk!

What are in the bakes, you may ask.  Here are the ingredients that she uses in her yummilicious bakes

The key ingredients are Rolled Oats, Brewer’s Yeast, and Flax Seed.

Oatmeal has long been recommended as a way for moms to boost their milk supply.  They are not only a nutritional powerhouse, providing plenty of whole grains, fiber, iron, and an abundance of healthy vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants for nursing mothers, they also help to lower cholesterol and maintain a healthy blood pressure.

Brewer’s yeast is a traditional remedy used to stimulate and increase the production of breast milk. It contains iron, protein, and B vitamins, as well as chromium, selenium and other trace minerals. Brewer yeast  is also believed to combat fatigue and fight off the baby blues.

Flax seed provides an abundance of omega-3 fatty acids necessary for brain development. They contains phytoestrogens, a plant-based compound that can mildly mimic estrogen. They are also a good source of fiber which is also important for nursing moms. (SLB)

Her bakes are suitable for young and old EXCEPT for pregnant ladies due to the inclusion of flexseeds which act as estrogen and stimulates contractions.

Hence if you would like to try a way to boost milk supply and eat healthily at the same time, why not try Singapore Lactation Bakes?
